Tradition Meets Modernity

Since opening its doors in 1812, the Breidenbacher Hof has been regarded as one of the great icons of German and European luxury hospitality. Renowned for its unwavering commitment to excellence, the hotel quickly became a gathering place for political leaders, royalty and members of high society. More than two centuries later, it continues to embody the very essence of luxury in Düsseldorf, preserving a remarkable legacy while embracing the expectations of the modern traveller.
In 1999, the Breidenbacher Hof closed for what was initially intended to be an extensive refurbishment. It soon became apparent, however, that a complete reconstruction would be necessary. The project stalled, the historic building fell into disrepair and, in 2004, it was ultimately demolished. Its carefully considered rebirth returned one of Düsseldorf's most treasured landmarks to the city, culminating in the grand opening of the new Breidenbacher Hof in May 2008.

For Horst Schulze, the hotel had long held a special significance. As a young boy, he would stand before its entrance in quiet admiration, convinced that one day he would become part of this legendary institution. Little could he have imagined that, years later, he would play a pivotal role in shaping its remarkable renaissance and restoring one of Germany's great luxury hotels to its former prominence.
Today, guests from around the world are welcomed into an atmosphere of understated elegance, enjoying thoughtfully appointed accommodation and a level of attentive, intuitive service that remains unrivalled in Düsseldorf. The hotel comprises 85 luxurious guestrooms, 21 exclusive suites and 18 private luxury residences, complemented by prestigious office space and an elegant collection of boutiques. Its address on the renowned Königsallee is quite simply second to none.

Elegant Accommodation

From the refined surroundings of the «Living Room», discreet lifts lead effortlessly to the guest floors above. With accommodation ranging from generously proportioned guestrooms of approximately 41 square metres to the magnificent Royal Suite spanning almost 400 square metres, the Breidenbacher Hof sets an impressive benchmark for luxury hospitality in Europe.
Regardless of category, every room and suite has been thoughtfully designed to combine exceptional comfort with understated elegance. Modern conveniences are seamlessly integrated throughout, including intuitive touchscreen controls for lighting, air conditioning and curtains. A large LCD television, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and integrated audio and iPod connectivity complete the suite of contemporary in-room technology.
Comfortable armchairs, elegant sofas and well-appointed workspaces with spacious desks and multifunction telephones create an environment equally suited to relaxation and productivity.
Only the finest materials have been selected for the interiors, with rich woods and luxurious fabrics lending every room a warm, residential character. The complimentary refreshment centre offers soft drinks, Nespresso coffee and a carefully curated selection of teas. Above all, guests can look forward to an exceptionally restful night's sleep in the hotel's sumptuous signature beds—an experience that perfectly reflects the Breidenbacher Hof's uncompromising commitment to comfort.

Covering an impressive 800 square metres, the «Royal Floor» is the largest exclusive hotel floor of its kind in Germany. To mark the sixth anniversary of the Breidenbacher Hof's reopening, the entire ninth floor was transformed into an exceptional private enclave comprising eleven individually appointed accommodations.
The redevelopment introduced five luxurious suites alongside six elegant guestrooms, almost all of which can be interconnected to create a truly bespoke residential experience. Representing an investment of approximately €10 million, the project further strengthened the hotel's position among Europe's leading luxury destinations.
The undisputed centrepiece of the Royal Floor is the magnificent «Royal Suite» Extending across approximately 400 square metres, it features three beautifully appointed bedrooms together with an array of exclusive amenities, offering one of the country's most prestigious hotel accommodations.
Created exclusively for the Royal Floor, the «Grand Deluxe Room» category spans a generous 65 square metres and has been thoughtfully designed with extended stays in mind. Among its distinguishing features is a discreetly integrated kitchenette, providing guests with the comfort and flexibility of a private residence while enjoying the impeccable service of one of Germany's finest hotels.

Gourmet Cuisine

The culinary heart of the Breidenbacher Hof is «The Duchy Restaurant & Bar», elegantly situated on the first floor of the hotel.
Here, exceptional flavours are paired with an uncompromising passion for the very best of European cuisine. Under the direction of Executive Chef «Philipp Ferber» the culinary team presents a refined Brasserie-inspired menu that celebrates regional ingredients through a contemporary lens. Whether enjoying a relaxed dinner or a light selection from the restaurant's Raw Bar, guests are treated to cuisine that is both sophisticated and effortlessly approachable.

To mark the hotel's eighth anniversary, the elegant «Lobby Lounge» was completely reimagined, introducing a contemporary dining concept that has since become one of Düsseldorf's most sought-after meeting places. Since its reopening in April 2016, guests have enjoyed an all-day menu of balanced, flavourful and beautifully crafted dishes, making the lounge a favourite destination for both residents and locals alike.
Equally inviting is the hotel's stylish «Bar», where contemporary design meets timeless elegance. Rich woods, luxurious fabrics and an extraordinary backlit marble ceiling create an atmosphere of understated glamour, complemented by an impressive selection of premium spirits and fine wines from around the world. Whether seated at the elegant semi-circular bar or relaxing in one of the intimate lounge areas, guests can savour everything from refined light bites to an exclusive selection of caviar.
Adjoining the bar is the hotel's striking «Smoking Lounge», a space that immediately captivates with its distinctive design. Instead of traditional parquet or marble, the floor is finished in broad leather tiles, lending the room a uniquely sophisticated character. Framed by magnificent wood panelling and overlooking a walk-in humidor, the lounge offers an exceptional setting in which to enjoy rare cognacs alongside expertly crafted Cuban and Dominican cigars. Here, smoking is not merely permitted—it is elevated to a refined ritual, one of the few remaining luxuries that can still be enjoyed in such an elegant and distinguished setting.

Royal Silk Spa und Fitness

The Royal Silk Spa welcomes discerning guests to an elegant wellness sanctuary spanning approximately 600 square metres, where fitness, relaxation and wellbeing are seamlessly combined within a single harmonious setting.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a sophisticated reception area, beautifully designed in calming earth tones and natural materials. Plush bathrobes and towels are thoughtfully provided, while the spacious fitness studio is equipped with the latest Technogym equipment, catering to both casual exercise and dedicated training.
The 4.5-by-10-metre swimming pool, framed by an impressive natural stone feature wall, forms the centrepiece of the spa. Underwater massage jets and a cascading waterfall create an atmosphere of complete tranquillity, while comfortable lounge seating surrounding the pool invites guests to linger in peaceful surroundings.
Adjacent to the pool lies the secluded sauna area, offering three distinct wellness experiences: a ladies' Finnish sauna, a mixed Finnish sauna and a steam room. Sensory showers complete the thermal journey, combining varying water jets, tropical rain settings, cooling mist and atmospheric lighting to provide an invigorating and immersive experience.
The Royal Silk Spa successfully combines the highest standards of quality with contemporary elegance, personalised service and a refined sense of modern wellbeing. At the heart of its philosophy lies a holistic approach to relaxation, restoring harmony between body, mind and spirit through bespoke treatments delivered by a team of exceptionally skilled therapists.
