Palma de Mallorca — how deeply I love this city. Do you know the feeling of being somewhere other than your own place of residence, and yet feeling entirely at home? Perhaps it has something to do with my family history. More than 50 years ago, my parents met and fell in love on what is often affectionately called “the Germans’ favourite island”. Since then, Mallorca has held a very special place in our family story.
When the seatbelt signs illuminate before landing in Palma, my heart begins to beat faster — not out of nervousness, but from pure anticipation.
From the airport, it is only a short taxi ride into the centre of the island’s capital. A brief stretch along the Autopista de Llevant, past the sea and the conference centre, by the famous Gothic Cathedral of Santa María de Mallorca — known fondly simply as La Seu — and onwards towards the beautiful Passeig del Born. Then, through the roundabout and into the heart of the old town, into the Barrio de La Lonja.
All in all, fewer than 20 minutes pass before the car comes to a halt in front of the grand entrance to a remarkable address: Puro Grand Hotel.
Join us as we step inside, and allow yourself to be inspired to plan a stay in the very heart of Palma de Mallorca.
I wish you much pleasure.
Warmly yours,

While the taxi driver first rings the bell, we catch a glimpse through the wrought-iron detailing of the main portal of the inviting entrance beyond. Attentive members of the hotel team welcome us inside, taking care of the luggage as they guide us towards reception.
As the formalities are quietly taken care of, we are already seated in the soothing shade of the palace courtyard, enjoying a chilled glass of cava. The atmosphere has an immediately calming effect; the ochre-coloured sandstone feels wonderfully serene, and the cava, it must be said, is delightfully well chosen.
The palace dates back to the 15th century and, in 2022, was transformed through meticulous, detail-loving craftsmanship into a luxurious boutique hotel for discerning travellers. Here, historic character lives on with grace, reimagined through the lens of contemporary elegance.
The sense of style continues seamlessly in the hotel’s elegant rooms and suites. Some look out across the old town, while others face the quiet inner courtyard.
Generous, exceptionally comfortable king-size beds and a pared-back yet consistently assured design language define the accommodation — even in the smallest category, Mediterráneo. For us, one of the highlights among the palace rooms is the Oasis Junior Suite: a space of almost 40 square metres arranged across two levels, complete with its own private inner terrace.
In all rooms and suites, guests will find complimentary water, organic bathroom amenities from the Mediterranean-inspired SeaSkin Life collection, a Nespresso machine with organic capsules, a kettle and a selection of herbal teas, as well as a minibar.
After a restorative night in the hotel’s wonderfully comfortable beds, guests are welcomed to Beatnik, the in-house restaurant, for a generous Spanish breakfast buffet. Fresh, authentic, grounded and refined, the offering aligns beautifully with the overall character of the house. Guests may enjoy it indoors or at one of the tables in the charming courtyard.
The warm and attentive staff fulfil every culinary wish wherever possible, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and quietly polished.
Beatnik is the heart of this boutique hotel. Set at the centre of the lobby, it serves not only breakfast, but also lunch and dinner. The adjoining bar remains open until late into the night, making it an inviting address for a final drink before returning to the calm of one’s room.
For guests with an affinity for wellness, the hotel offers an exclusive selection of treatments and rituals in collaboration with SeaSkin Life. Further information and reservations for the individual treatments are available through the hotel reception.
A Lasting Impression
Charming, personal, elegant and luxurious — yet at the same time wonderfully grounded — this boutique hotel presents itself as a refined hideaway in the heart of Palma’s old town. Its location is almost perfect for those who like to be right at the centre of things. Surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants, and only a three-minute walk from the magnificent Passeig del Born, Puro Grand is an ideal base from which to explore the city on foot.
The atmosphere of the historic house is remarkably beautiful. Alongside the restored façades, impressive wooden coffered ceilings, contemporary elements, artworks and stylish furnishings come together in effortless harmony.
To be a guest here is a genuine pleasure.
